Hi, I'm Seana. Daughter, wife, mother, sister, believer. Sojourner. Sales professional by trade. Dilettante (amateur dabbler) in health, fitness, personal development, and politics🙄. Raconteur. Faithful seeker. List-making calendar keeper. Acutely impulsive. Grace-minded and diplomatic, (yet also) over-analytical and sometimes judgmental. (But at least as I'm not as bad as some people I know! 😉)
I graduated from the University of Alabama in 1996 with a degree in Political Science and English and promptly got a job as a sales assistant at second-rate television station in Birmingham, AL - all of which successfully taught me to be an outgoing, bibulous, slightly narcissistic cynic. In other words, I'm a walking oxymoron.
My likes: motivational quotes, wine🍷, reading motivational quotes in the bathtub with wine, little ice pellets (like you get at Sonic), TSA Precheck, Christmas lights all year round, ec·lec·ti·cism, IPA beer (yes, I've seen the memes, but I really do like the taste of a pine tree), Christmas Hallmark movies, the feeling you get after a good cry. I'm a big fan of color. And music. Humor is good, but sarcasm reigns supreme in my book. Occasional rainy days are nice. I love a nice, thick Thesaurus, as well as butter, dark coffee & even darker chocolate. Oh, and dogs 🐶 (because I am not a psychopath).
When I'm not working at my full time job in sales, I enjoy reading (especially the classics), teaching HIIT classes at my local civic center, hiking (I do this one like twice a year, but I like to keep it in my bio bc any day I might pick it back up more regularly you know,) traveling, and most importantly - spending time with my husband and two grown children (I don't think any of them will ever read this, but I put it in here just to cover my bases).
Also, I have a life-long love affair with walking (long walks, short walks, walking when it’s really cold, walking in the rain, walking in the summer, walking in the woods, walking on the beach, walking in a big city...) and I once kept an instagram journal to document my walks🚶♀️every day for a year.
I have loved writing since middle-school when, for our South Paw school newspaper, I wrote my first feature article on visiting the recently-opened Birmingham Race Course where my parents let me take their bets to the window while they drank draft beer from little plastic cups. I am still grateful to Ms. Greene, my 7th grade English teacher and our school newspaper sponsor, for editing that article prior to print. She kindly pointed out that my use of the phrase "looking forward toward my next trip" was redundant. (I dropped the toward and replaced it with to.)
I think Ms. Greene would be proud to know, I've continued with my writing ✍️ over the years - albeit sporadically - by writing for other school and local papers, doing my own personal copywriting, and penning the occasional Linkedin post; however, I'm most well-known among friends and family as the fixer. I'm usually the one you call to clean up a resume, essay, job application, recommendation letter, etc..
I truly just want to push myself to do better every day- in my spiritual life, relationships, health/fitness, finances, and professional life. I am a dynamo⚙️. I create my own opportunity and I hope to help others do the same.
